Newsletter
Dear parents and friends,
The 2016 school year has come to an end.
Congratulations to all our students on their
achievements during the year.
Communication Books:
Communication books will be collected this
week to be archived as official documents.
New books will be issued on Day 1 2017.
Thank you to parents and friends who have
communicated daily with regarding
students. Regular communication certainly
does make a difference.
Senior Students:
Our Year 10 students are eagerly
anticipating their move to senior school in
2017. Students who are enrolled in Years
11 & 12 have a uniform change and wear
white polo shirts. Shirts with our school
logo can be purchased from the front
office.
Santa Visit:
This week were very lucky to have Santa
take a break from his busy schedule and
pop into HRCS for some last minute
Christmas list ideas. Students were very
excited share their Christmas wish lists
and to have their photo taken with the
jolly man in red. Thank you Santa.
Year 12 Day:
Today is a bittersweet day: the end of a
very busy school year, but also the end of
school for our Year 12 students.
Our secondary students participated in a
chicken and “champagne” breakfast, shirt
signing and a whole school assembly. The Year
11 and 12 students then headed to East
Maitland Bowling Club for a final lunch.
On behalf of our school learning community, I
would like to wish our Year 12 students, Nick,
Dylan Leticia and Katie all the very best for a
successful transition to the next exciting
stage of their lives. We will certainly miss you
and you families: please don’t be strangers!
2017 School Year:
The 2017 school year will resume for staff on
Friday 27th January and for current students
on Monday 30th January and new students
on Tuesday 31st January.
Thank You:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank
my wonderful staff for all their dedication
and commitment during the year. Their
commitment to ensuring that our students are
engaged in quality learning experiences is to
be commended.
I would also like to thank all our amazing
volunteers who have assisted in so many ways
this year. Without their support, many of our
school programs would not be able to operate.
The support from our local business
community has continued to be incredibly
generous this year. East Maitland Bowling &
Leisure Club has once again been our major
sponsor, donating significant amounts of
money. Many small businesses and
2
organisations have also made HRCS a
beneficiary of their fundraising, and their
generosity is greatly appreciated.
Our school community is always extremely
supportive toward school programs and
initiatives. The P&C have continued to, not
only fundraise, but raise the profile of the
school. Together we are stronger!
Finally I would like to thank our wonderful
student body, who constantly amaze us with
their skills and abilities. Their ability to
overcome challenges and meet obstacles head
on is admirable.
Finally I would like to wish everyone a safe,
happy and enjoyable Christmas and New Year.
I hope that the holiday period is restful and
full of fun.
See you in 2017
Kind Regards
Tracey
