STUDENTS PREPARE FOR 2ND ANNUAL CLIFF FLOYD CHARITY BOWLING TOURNAMENT
Dr. Finley’s Sport Sponsorship Design and Strategies Class are getting first hand experience by
developing the sponsorship packages for the Second Annual Cliff Floyd Charity Bowling
Tournament. Initially they determined the various sponsorship levels and prices to be charged.
The next step was to develop attractive collateral to help attract participants.
MBA Advisory Board Member Anthony Jabara, Director of Partnership Marketing, and Shan-
non Burrows, Manager of Partnership Management, of the Florida Panthers attended class on
Tuesday, February 18, 2014. First they presented an actual sponsorship proposal which they
are currently working on at the Panthers. The students were given first hand experience on
how a sponsorship package is formulated from beginning to hopefully a positive closure.
Then it was the students turn to show off their creations. Both Anthony and Shannon gave
constructive comments and the students have gone back to their drawing boards. Stay tuned
for the final presentations. In the meantime, the public can sign up for the Bowling Tourna-
ment at https://www.blacktie-southflorida.com/index.cfm.

NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY
AT SPRING TRAINING!
Good morning,
We hope you are tuning into the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia! Don’t let your students miss
this opportunity to become a part of the Olympic and Paralympic family. Scholarships are
available!
Every summer, the USOC hosts a program called Finding Leaders Among Minorities Every-
where (FLAME). The program provides minority high school students with an intensive look
into the complex world of the Olympics and sports business. Students are provided with excit-
ing and rigorous curriculum aimed at developing both professional skills as well as Olympic
sport knowledge. Students who are accepted into this highly competitive program will attend
workshops and classes at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., where they
will have the opportunity to eat at the athlete dining hall and experience life in the fast-paced
world of elite sports.
We are reaching out to school administrators across the country to spread the word about
FLAME. Scholarships are still available! Don’t let your students and athletes miss out on this
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

College Application If you have any questions please contact [email protected].
