Summary
NRELis assistingColoradoEnergyOfficewithanevaluationofaportfoliooflow-incomecommunitysolardemonstrationprojects(LICSProjects) whichwillservetoinformfuturepolicydevelopmentspecifictocommunitysolarandenergyburdenedhouseholds.Theportfolioof10-12LICSProjectswillbedevelopedoveratwo-yeartimeframe(fromNovember2015– October2017)andwillservetoreducehouseholdenergyburdenforlow-incomesubscribersanddemonstratetheviabilityandscalabilityofdevelopingcommunitysolarprojectssolelyforlow-incomehouseholds.Oncecomplete,aminimumof1MWofsolarpowerwillbeinstalledandacumulativetotalof300low-incomehouseholdswillbesubscribedtothedemonstrationprojects.
