Only recently, free poor quality plastic bags in supermarkets have been replaced by paid, good quality
ones: Environmental movement gaining ground. However, vegetables
are still bagged individually by consumers -
opportunity to educate people.
Cashier lines are always long, and can take a long time even if few people in the
line.Opportunity:

To avoid robberies, every once in a while store supervisor comes by to empty each cashier. This takes up
about 3-5min of each cashier’s time.Opportunity:
Build an automatic deposit system that physically delivers the money to back office, without anyone having to
move, or customers wait in line.

When Things Fall Apartliterally.
Sometimes, force majeure strikes.Opportunity:
Be flexible enough to take advantage of the situation, e.g.
1) Move the stuff around so that people can get to the products2) Discounts on stuff that’s NOT out-of-stock3) Be humorous about it: “CONTEST: how many bottles did we sell today?”4) Give out free candy or discount vouchers
