The main component of the scallop shell is calcium carbonate. Calcinated on high heat, it is decomposed into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. The calcium oxide is called Okhotsk Calcium.
Reacting with water, calcium oxide (Okhotsk Calcium) turns into calcium hydroxide. The solution is the strong-alkaline one with more than PH12. The strong-alkaline solution has the sterilizing and deodorizing effectiveness and decomposes bacteria such as Escherichia coli and O157, viruses, and acetic acid and acetaldehyde which are the origin of the odor, etc.
