'Khushiyon Ki Sawari' ambulances flagged off in Uttarakhand
GVK EMRI launched 90 new 108 ambulances under the “Khushiyon Ki Sawari” project in Uttarakhand. These ambulances will transport expectant mothers to the hospital and also bring the mother and new-born back to their villages safely. Equipped with latest medical facilities, these life-saver ambulances would ensure immediate medical relief to villagers across remote areas.

GVK EMRI honours Good Samaritans
GVK EMRI recently honoured citizens who had come forward and helped strangers in need of urgent medical help and called for the 108 ambulance; as part of “Good Samaritan Day” in Chennai.
One of the callers, Ms. Ilamathi, employed at the Basin Bridge railway yard, has called 108 four times in the past one year. “For the first time, I called to help a woman who was crossing the tracks and lost both her legs. The second time, I called 108 to help a man who had a heart attack while crossing the tracks,” she recalls.

A special evening was organized at Vivanta by Taj, Begumpet to honour outstanding women who have achieved excellence in their respective fields. Prominent entrepreneurs, NGO directors, film personalities and social workers who are role models for all women in the country and beyond, were felicitated at the event. For the second consecutive year, GVK CSIA has been rated as the third best airport worldwide in the 25-40 million passengers per annum (mppa) category at the annual ACI Airport Service Quality Awards 2012. The survey was conducted amongst 275 airports globally and GVK CSIA was lauded for its excellent service standards and facilities.

GVK CSIA has been awarded the globally recognised
Airport Carbon Accreditation for 2012-13 by Airport
Council International (ACI) for its pioneering carbon
footprint management system and processes
implemented. The airport has now been upgraded from
level 1 (Mapping) to level 2 (Reduction), making it one of
the very few airports in Asia Pacific to receive this
certification.
Bengaluru International Airport creates a greener environmentGVK BIA has been certified for ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System for its commitment towards maintaining ecological balance and minimizing adverse impact on environment. This certification enables GVK BIA to cut down costs and improve its energy efficiency by reducing emissions, m i n i m i z i n g w a s t e s a n d by complying with legal requirements.
Mr. Francis Rajan, VP, ICT was honoured with the CIO (Chief Information Officer) Grand Master 2013 Award for his contribution towards SMART Collaboration IT Framework for the GVK BIA airport.

GVK BIA the first airport globally to adopt the IATA & ACI OPEN Industry standard – AIDX (Aviation Information Data Exchange).

Goindwal Sahib Thermal Power Plant and Gautami Combined Cycle Power Plant observed '42nd National Safety Week' highlighting security measures that encourage preventive safety and health culture. Various safety training programs, fire-fighting demonstrations and screening of safety films were organized. Employees and their families participated in slogans, quizzes, poster competitions along with a safety march.

Madan, Director- Hydro, has Contributed four chapters in a manual on “Best Practices in Underground Construction Works” that highlights various aspects of underground construction measures, published by Central Board of Irrigation & Power. He has also been a contributing author to well-known books such as “Manual on Underground Works” and “Bhumigat Nirman Prodhiyogiki Evam Bharat Mein Jal Vidhyutvikas”.
GVK BIO has licensed its online SAR database – ‘GOSTAR’, to the Drug Discovery Unit at the University of Dundee. ‘GOSTAR’ is a manually curated database that has been developed over a decade by a team of more than 200 curators. The product has been issued g loba l ly across pharmaceut ica ls , academics, government sectors, and in numerous publications.

The annual Summer Fun festivities began at GVK one mall in Hyderabad with the celebration of the Go Green Day. Kids rushed in to participate in various activities like making eco-friendly products such as hand-made paper bags etc. GVK one organizes 'Summer Fun at one' for children every year, involving them in various recreational activities like aero modelling, robotics, candle making, go green activities, vedic math, and other creative and learning activities.

The construction works of the R&R colony near the Tokisud site are going on in full swing. The company, as an R&R initiative, is constructing residential houses for the project affected families mirroring the local traditions along with social infrastructure like a school, dispensary, and a community center with shops. Road construction within the colony and electrical works are also being carried out in order to successfully rehabilitate and improve the living standards of the displaced families.
