I want to give a big thank you to Dr. Chester Harrison for standing in the gap this past Sunday. I greatly appreciate his friendship and lead-ership for our Prentiss Baptist Association. I hope you were blessed by the word God laid on his heart. I also want to give a big thank you to the NEMCC BSU Ensemble for sharing their talents with us Sun-day night. Last and certainly not least, I owe a big thank you to Carter Smith for filling the pulpit on Sunday night. Our church is very fortu-nate to have a great youth minister who preaches the Word with pas-sion and clarity. Before I talk about this upcoming week’s reading plan, I want to make you aware of an upcoming event. Next Thursday, May 4, is the National Day of Prayer. There will be a Prayer Rally at Booneville City Hall at 12:00PM. I will be leading one of the prayer times along with several other ministers in our area. These are always uplifting times together as we pray for our nation, our leaders, our community, and especially for the lost. I hope you will make plans to join us at the National Day of Prayer Rally. If you are on track with us, we are working through Week 18 in the reading plan. The majority of the week’s readings will be in Psalms with one reading in 2 Samuel. The 2 Samuel passage highlights an-other one of David’s low moments as he conducts a census which an-gered the Lord. The consequences of this decision were costly, yet the Lord was merciful in His punishment. The passages in Psalms cover a wide range of emotions. Psalm 51 is sorrowful as David repents of his sins with Bathsheba. Psalm 24 is worshipful as David declares God to be the King of Glory. Psalm 1 is introspective as David weighs the importance of obedience. Psalm 19 is majestic as David describes the brilliance of creation and the Crea-tor. Psalm 103 is victorious as David offers his praise of God’s for-giveness. Psalm 119 is joyful as David delights in God’s Word. I will talk more about Psalm 119 in next week’s newsletter. Due to Easter and me being out of town last week, I need to fall be-hind a little in our reading plan. There are a couple stories that are just too important to skip over. So, this upcoming Sunday morning, I’ll jump back to Week 16, and we are going to study David and Go-liath. In the evening service, I’ll jump back to Week 17, and we are going to study David and Bathsheba. Just don’t let my little adjust-ment disrupt your reading schedule. Keep going in the reading plan and have a blessed week! In Christ, Jason

Oasis Medical Center Walk for Life News: Many prayers were answered when clouds parted on Saturday, April 22, to allow the Walk-for-Life. A special “thank you” to all who sponsored FBC walkers and for those who walked: Virginia Chase, Neola Cleveland, Ali Cooley, Jack Dukes, Sandra Gray, Sybie Kyle, Aiden Mace, Casen Mathis, Laurie McBride, and Doris Stewart. We came in 3rd place raising $2,24.54! (A team could only consist of 8 walkers, so in reality - we donated almost $3,000.00 to Oasis!!! Way to go, FBC!) Edging us out was Iuka Baptist—raising over $3,000, and Oakland Baptist’s Awana team—with over $5,000.00. Praise the Lord, giving was up for the walk this year!!

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week in the life of our youth, we are excited to announce that our 2017 Graduation Senior Sunday will be May 14th. May 14th is also a very special day as we honor our mothers on Mother’s Day. We will be recognizing 10 seniors during our morning worship service. Eight of these seniors will be graduation high school the following week and two of these seniors are still continuing their education. Our 2017 seniors are Robert Dunahoo, Baylee Fisher, Katy Lyn Hare, Coen Lindsey, Connor Moore, Trevin Moore, Nathan Peeks, Kaz Shumpert, Matthew Stephens, and Justin Walters. We are very proud of their accomplishments at Booneville High School. We will start this Graduation Senior Sunday in the fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. where the rest of our youth will be preparing and serving a special breakfast to our seniors and their families who will be attending on this special day. We invite you to join us on May 14th as we recognize the 2017 FBC Booneville Seniors on Mother’s Day. Please pray for these 10 students as they pursue college and the work force. Pray that God will order their steps throughout their journey. ▪Act Justly ▪Love Mercy ▪Walk Humbly
