Oral Histories Projects for L2 Learners Brent A. Jones

Presented at Peace as a Global Language (PGL) 2014 Abstract - In this presentation, we introduce a series of semester-long Oral Histories projects which are part of a content-focused EFL program at a private university in western Japan. This talk includes brief overviews of (1) Oral Histories, (2) our course outline, (3) weekly lesson plans, and (4) sample student work. Participants will go away with a general understanding of the theory (including rationale) and practice of Oral Histories for language learning programs, as well as several resources for pursuing their own Oral Histories projects.
