recycling of contaminated metals from radiological areas within DOE
• Suspension prohibits unrestricted release for recycling of radioactive and non-radioactive metals from radiological areas within DOE– No release for commercial use– Radiological Area: Radiation area, high radiation area,
contamination area, etc.• For beneficial reuse/recycling as well as alleviating
storage needs and disposal costs, SLAC needs to release some of the BaBar/PEP II components containing metals for recycling/reuse offsite.
