Message from Principal’s
Desk
“Education is much more than mere learning. It
is a soul searching exercise committed towards
excellence.” Delhi Public School Bopal has
become a centre for excellence in the field of
education and aims at the holistic development
of children. It heralds the arrival of innovative
and holistic education where child centred
learning takes precedence over cumbersome
and monotonous class work. Leveraging on
‘relationships’ that matter in the child’s life,
weave the important interactions within the well
structured school programmes that contribute in
bringing about the quality results and holistic
outcomes in the students.
Numerous studies show that test scores leap,
often by more than 20 per cent, when children
are encouraged to develop good attitudes
towards themselves and their learning. Keeping
this in mind our school offers programmes to
help their students develop key character
strengths such as resilience, persistence,
optimism and courage which actively contribute
Page 3 of 14
to a well rounded personality. Our teachers help students "grow" their inner cores. Key qualities
like Joie de vivre, the ability to love and appreciate life , might sound wishy-washy in the hard
world of exam results, but love and security feed a host of qualities that great learners need.
These include the ability to be open and receptive, to be willing and to feel connected.
Meanwhile, cultivating an attitude of appreciation means being able to enjoy the journey of
learning, wonder at nature, relish a good story, feel good about achievements, and enjoy the
companionship of the classroom. All of which, in turn, feed confidence, excitement and curiosity
back into the learning loop.
It is very true that children are like flowers in a garden with different colours and
fragrances, who add to the beauty of the garden. The teachers are like gardeners who
care and nurture the small seedlings and turn them into well blossomed flowers. They
play a cardinal role in building up the character of the students. They work in close
coordination with the students and provide them education that helps them to develop
into balanced personalities with sound values of love, kindness, devotion and service
before self. This dynamic combination empowers them to be the future leaders of
tomorrow. They also prepare global citizens well equipped with life skills needed to face
the changing challenges of the world around them.
The school also offers an array of principles and values that integrate in the life of every
child, giving them an incredible opportunity for academic, social and emotional growth.
Our mission is to imbue our students with universally prized moral values who can
effortlessly adopt to multicultural ethos and milieu and are competent to perform in a
globalize knowledge economy. We facilitate quality education by sculpting the character
of the students with intellectual powers as well as strength of culture.
My dear parents, Education at Delhi Public School is not a destination but a journey of
exploration which is full of hopes, promises, and endless possibilities because every child
is unique and precious to us. I am confident that it will always be a beacon of light,
dispelling the darkness of ignorance and lighting the path of its students, while radiating
kindness and compassion, as it soars high in its pursuit of academic excellence and
fulfilment of the school motto ‘ Service before Self ’.
