Have your story checked by a member of your group.
Write “corrected by: <your name>” somewhere on the page where you have room to write notes.
Answer any questions asked in complete sentences under your name.
Does it give a background to the story being told?
Does the background belong to the story being told?
Is there a story being told?
Is the story told well? Explain.
These Personal Statements are supposed to be stories that defines who they are. Explain what the author is trying to say about their character through their story.
Is it explained well? Explain. Can you tell which prompt they wrote
about? If so, which one? Did they write about it well?
Handwritten?
In three paragraphs?
Given a correct heading and title?
Written in black or blue ink?
Persuasive?
Explain three things that you thought were good in their essay.
Give and explain three recommendations on three parts of their personal statement that can use work.
When a personal statement was checked, give it back to the author.
