Introduction:
National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell has organized a One Week Special Camp at Nimbalak Village that
comes in Phaltan Taluka, Satara District, Maharashtra. It is imperative to mention that the Nimbalak has
been historical village. As volunteers of NSS Cell regularly organize different activities in and around the
campus, this time the volunteers planned to organize a special camp in the village which the college has
adopted.
The objective of this camp was to begin the interface with community, rapport building with
community members and developing understanding of the village keeping in view the rationale of
village adoption i.e. develop long term institutional relation with the community and contribution to the
upliftment of people therein. The Cashless transactions, digital lockers, computer literacy was the major
activities in this camp for the villagers.
About the Special Camp:
In this camp we want to train the peoples from rural area for cashless transactions so that they can
easily face banknote demonetization. With limited cash in hand and an indefinite crunch in sight, most
people are rushing to cashless transactions. "Digital transactions bring in better transparency, scalability
and accountability in the society. We also open digital lockers of the peoples in Nimbalak village. A
digital locker or cyber locker is an online file or digital media storage service. Files stored includes soft
copy of Identity card, Driving license, Job Card, Ration Card, Adhar card, Bank Pass Book, 7/12
certificate and all important documents of villagers. So while doing traditional things in camp we
specially focus on digital India campaign of government of India.
