PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
The objectives of the 12-month residency program are:
• Toadvancetheresident’sknowledgein drug therapy, medication therapy management, immunizations, health screenings, and wellness education.
• Todevelopleadershipandmanagementskillstodevelop,implement, and evaluate innovative pharmacy services.
This program is part of the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. Community and Ambulatory PGY-1 Residency Program, accredited by the American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and its partner organization the American Pharmacists Association since 2004.
