THE NEEDS OF THE PLANTS ARE:

SUNLIGHT Plants need sunlight for growing healthy and making food.

WATER

• Plants need water to survive. Without water, plants become stressed and die. A plant that is not watered will have a weak steam and dried up leaves and eventually die.

TEMPERATURE

• Plants react to temperature by speeding up or slowing down all of their life process. Warmth encourages germination and growth.

NUTRIENTS• Plants need nutrients to grow. They get their nutrients from

the soil.

SPACEBoth the roots and leaves need room to grow. Without enough room, plants can become stunted or too small; moreover, they are more likely to suffer from diseases since airflow may be limited.

AIR AND SOIL • Fresh, clean air and healthy soil help plants

grow. Soil provides an anchor for plant roots and helps support the plants
