Platte to Park Hill: Stormwater Systems is taking a comprehensive approach to better protecting people and property against flooding while improving water quality and enhancing public spaces. The program will be focused in the near-term on the neighborhoods of Elyria, Swansea, Cole, Clayton, Skyland, Whittier, Five Points and Northwest Park Hill, which are the areas at most risk of severe flooding during storms.

PROGRAM NEEDDue to natural drainage patterns and increasing development, Denver has experienced significant flooding in recent years, endangering people’s lives, causing millions of dollars of damage to private property, roads, pipes and other utilities. We cannot afford to allow neighborhoods, homes, businesses and residents to remain at risk.

Collectively, these four coordinated projects will increase neighborhood

connectivity, improve water quality, add new park and recreation spaces, as well

as provide critical flood control.
