Dear Families,
Next week a team of Principals will visit our school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. This team is from the School
Improvement Unit and will conduct a review of what we do across all aspects of our school. Each school in Queensland has a
review team within their school every 4 years. They spend the days understanding the school, pu'ng together their findings
and a key set of recommenda)ons for us to work on over the next 4 years. The team will commence with discussing our school
processes and procedures with the Leadership Team and then hold individual mee)ngs with most members of staff and some
students.
On Monday morning the Review Team will be introduced to our students on Good Morning Assembly. They will take the
opportunity to speak with parents at pick up )me on either Monday or Tuesday a1ernoon. The review team will have a
general chat with parents about their child and how they are going at our school.
Should you wish to have any addi)onal informa)on about our school review next week, please see me. I will be discussing the
findings of the review for the up coming P&C mee)ng on Friday 22nd March.
Have a great fortnight.

Hello Eagles,
Thank you to the parents who have been suppor)ng our school’s new Eagles Nest process. We

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS will be commencing in Week 8 and week 9, le9ers will
be sent home next week.
The process for selec)ng our 2019 School Captains has begun. 27 students were nominated in Year 6 by
teachers. The staff then voted on par)cular students which narrowed it down to 7 students. These 7 students
will be elected as either School Captain or Student Council Captain. The nominees for School Captain for this year
are: Clare Owens, Tyson Nguyen, Antony Nguyen, Jessica Le, Resa Williams, Fatai Pulu,
and Queenie Limas. Congratula)ons to those wonderful Eagles for being nominated. Last Friday many of
them took the assembly for the first )me and did a great job. On Thursday they presented their speeches in front
of staff and year 4-6 students. The combined Leaders Assembly will take place with the Term 1 Academic
Assembly on Wednesday 3rd April from 9.15am in the Mul)purpose Hall. More informa)on will follow later.
This week the Kindness Club have set up a box in the office area for students to nominate staff that they
appreciate. On Monday there were many students filling in forms which was wonderful to see. It is great for our
staff to be appreciated by the students and to see the difference that they are making in the student’s lives. Well
done Eagles, keep those nomina)ons coming in.
It is hard to believe that we are half way through the school term. I would like to take this opportunity to
acknowledge the hard work that all the staff do every day here at RESS. You have all contributed to making the
first half of the term enjoyable.
Stay safe, Eagles Rebecca AITKEN-CARRUTH Deputy Principal
On Monday our Aunty Justine (Our Community Liaison Officer) along with one of our students, Shakira, went for a tour and information afternoon tea at the Qld Police Service Academy in Oxley. They were given a tour of the academy and attended an information session regarding the special presentation and opening of the indigenous artwork that will be displayed at every Qld Police Station. The artwork was a combination of community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Police liaison officers input.
