ROKOLUB™ - Polyalkylene Glycols Based StockGeneral information The Rokolub product series features synthetic base stock components and additives dedicated to formulators with a strong focus on developing new products meeting the highest market expectations and demands. Their excellent properties such as lubricity, wear and extreme pressure characteristics along with a high viscosity index, low pour point, clean burning – sludge control make them perfect for various lubricant applications. Rokolub polyalkylene glycols are ethylene (EO) and propylene (PO) oxide based random polymers. The unique properties are a result of a chemical structure of a molecule. Each series is characterized by EO/PO ratio and a use of an alcohol initiator.
Unique Properties & Applications
The Rokolub product family includesRokolub 50-B series
Rokolub P-B series
Rokolub 60-D series
Rokolub water insoluble/ partially soluble series
• equal weight amount of ethylene and propylene oxide, molecules are finished with one terminal hydroxyl group. Rokolub 50-B series is a group of water soluble products. The number at the end of the name stands for viscosity in 40 deg (Table 2).
• molecules contain only propylene oxide and are finished with one terminal hydroxyl group. Rokolub P-B series is a group of water insoluble products. The number at the end of the name stands for viscosity in 40 deg (Table 3).
• 60 weight percent of ethylene and 40 weight percent of propylene oxide, molecules are finished with two terminal hydroxyl groups. Rokolub 60-D series is a group of water soluble products. The number at the end of the name stands for viscosity in 40 deg (Table 2).
• the number in the name stands for VG. This group of pro-ducts is characterized by different EO:PO ratio and has usu-ally two or three terminal hydroxyl groups (Table 4).
Polyalkylene glycols type base stock show unique properties as compared to other base stock petroleum derivatives, group I – III (Mineral Oil) and also better results in comparison with group IV (PAO).

Customized products and a new product development Due to our over 40 years of polyether polyol manufacturing experience, we are able to offer customized solutions as well as new products meeting all formulations and market demands. It is because of our production flexibility that we are able to synthesize products with a wide range of EO/PO ratio and a different initiator usage. Company’s resources allow us to obtain products that meet client’s exact physico-chemical requirements e.g.: viscosity, molecular weight, pour point, cloud point, solubility.
AdditivesAny antioxidants (AoX) additives used in Rokolub base stock series are applied mainly for storage use. Most of antioxi-dants used are phenolic derivatives.
Packaging Tank wagons or tanker trucks made of stainless steel, plastic containers with a capacity of 1m3, steel or plastic drums with a capacity of 200 dm3 and other packaging earlier agreed with the customer.
Storage conditionsStore in sealed containers, in cool, dry places. Maximum stor-age temperature +40°C. Recommended usage temperature 20-25°C. Viscosity increases as temperature decreases.
Shelf life To reach the maximum shelf life of 2 years before re-test, store in proper conditions.
TransportLimitations resulting from ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA regula-tions do not apply.
Hazard symbolNot classified as a hazardous chemical substance.
Other Rokolubs are polymers pursuant to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 REACH (Article 3(5)). Polymers are exempted from the provisions on registration of Title II of REACH (Article 2(9)). All monomers and other substances used in a production of the above-mentioned polyol have been/ will be registered by our supplier.
