January was a challenge, but she saved her best for our last Saturday. The wind was light, the sun was bright,
and the temperature was sweater perfect for our Canada Event. Thanks to the Pierces and Kindingers for a
fun event. Now we know who you want on your side for Canadian trivia. Congrats to the winners: 1st place –
Joe Comastra/Lorraine Wiersma, 2nd place – Vik & John Kapoor, and 3rd place – Gary & Cheryl Rhoads. We
had a fantastic turnout!
We’ve two great events coming up in February. First, the Roeskes are hosting a Nature Scavenger Hunt on
February 13th. You will be cruising Lake Harris looking for – well I can’t tell you. Then on February 27th, PYC
will make its second official appearance at GeorgeFest. Once again, the Patriots on Parade will cruise around
the Eustis waterfront. Please take note of all the details in this newsletter. We need everyone to show up for
this event to promote our club.
There are still opportunities for you to host an event. As more and more of us get our vaccinations, the
possibility of going back to restaurants becomes a reality. Remember, it takes all of us to keep our club going
so contact me if you are interested in sponsoring an event.
Stay safe on the water,
Commodore Cindy
Happy Pontooning!
Rear Commodore Gary Rhoads

I am pleased to report that we have new members. Betsy Dokken and Luke Somerlot joined
PYC in early-January.
They live on the north shore of Lake Eustis near several other PYC members and keep their new
pontoon boat in a slip at their home. They have relocated here from California during the past
year. Betsy will be retiring in March, and Luke is still doing some part-time consulting. Their
boating background includes 40 years of canoeing, white-water rafting, bass boats, living on a
42-foot motor yacht in Southern California, and now a pontoon boat. Please join me in
welcoming them to the Club!
I will shortly be issuing an updated Membership Report by email. We currently have 36 total
memberships, 30 regular memberships and 6 associates. When you receive the report, please
review the info for your listing, and inform me of any changes or corrections.

by Kay Weaver, PYC Historian May 17, 2003 Trimble Park PYC Outing at Trimble Park was good food, good times and most of all, good weather. We had 15 boats - nice turn out for May! Char Don did a bang up job on the barbeque chicken and beef and everything was delicious. Commodore Roy Weddle encouraged everyone to come to our summer meetings and support the club since we have a lot of our members going north for the summer months.

Looking Ahead
6/8, 6/9, 6/10, 6/11 2021 PYC OUTING AT RIVIERA RESORT ON ST. JOHNS RIVER
Kay and I would like to try another multi-day out of town boat trip, so we are going back to Riviera Resort [(888)
823-4642 or (386) 822-5662 www.rivieraresort.net on the St. Johns River in Deland. Take Hwy 44 east, cross
the St. Johns River, and then go south a mile or so to the Resort. We are holding 15 rooms, no deposit
required, and eight boat slips. RESERVE NOW, rooms are $319.50 tax included for 3 nights stay. All rooms
have kitchens. Boat slips are $7.00 per night. We are going mid-week, June 8, 9, 10, going home on Friday,
June 11th. We need a head count of those bringing boats as that will determine how many without boats we
can accommodate. All details to follow in PYC Outing Form.
We should all have our Covid-19 vaccine shots by then. Please let us (the Weavers) know if you plan to attend
and if you are bringing a boat. 352-978-0439
