STUDY OF POPULATION
• Population is the number of persons occupying a certain geographic area, drawing subsistence from their habitat, and interacting with one another. • Population growth rate:
No. of birth rate – No. of death rate• Demography - is the statistical study of human
populations. “Demo” means “the people” and “graphy” means “measurement.”
• Demographers – responsible in the study of population.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUATTERS AND
SLUMS?
• "Squatters" settle on land, especially public or unoccupied land, without right or title. Squatters include those who settles on public land under regulation by the government, in order to get title to it.
• "Slums" are highly congested urban areas marked by deteriorated, unsanitary buildings, poverty, and social disorganization.
