Precedent studies
The system un-der study is the pine cone system. We started off looking at some precedent stud-ies before exploring the concept and its mathematical rela-tionship to the prac-tical side of it.
In these models, we explored digitally the change in light re-ception to the change in structure.
Physical Model
At this point, we look at the physical model based on the pinecone's ability to change its shape responding to change in humidity, sunlight, and structure.
In this model, we explore the change in structure, how the pattern differs and the way it collapses down and reform itself.
Architectural Setting for the Natural System
This looks at the more practical approach to the formal proposals. It looks at a more structural vi-able designs as can be seen in this page. It also looks at a more math-ematically influenced structure as seen on the right.

Horizontal Structure
This looks at a proposal based on the studied natural systems. This proposal considers the hor-izontal structure and how the building may take shape or the conceptual version of it.
Different Proposals
this page explore the different proposals we had. Our main concept is to dig underground to give the public a bet-ter environment. This building creates a connection from the Millenium stadium to the Railway station and so it is impor-tant to consider its public value and impact.
The proposals takes the shape of regularity, allowing each house to possess a boat. This refects the link between the Cardiff city and Cardiff bay.
In this proposal we try to link physically the Millenium sta-dium to the Railways by continuing the promenade and bring development down to complete the architectural sequence present.
During the research, we found some arch structures un-der the ar pack which we decided would be used for retail spaces. In this way, we can increase both the space of the carpark and the retail space at the same time.
