Recently graduated at the TU Delft, University of Technology in The Netherlands in Bachelor in Architecture, and looking for an opportunity to work in a New Zealand firm.Being an intern at a firm in The Netherlands for four months, I learned how to work and cooperate with team members to get the best results in a high-pressure atmosphere. Kunsthal 2015|Rotterdam
OMA designed in 1996 The Kunsthal, a museum located in Rot-terdam, and worldwide famous for it’s contemporary design. The antisocial design of Rem Koolhaas: the ramp at the entrance has an incline of 1:5; the unclear routing in the building; the staircase leading to nowhere; the high energybills because of bad detai-ling, made the decision easy to design a new Kunsthal that would be opposed to the old Kunsthal.
An entrance positioned at the main road, a 1:20 ramp around the exhibitionhalls that make a clear routing with overviews into the museum, several focusses on daylight with differing roofstructures and an atrium for necessary climatecontrol would make this Kunst-hal one that would be applicable for 2015 and further. Making a complete Revit-model, a system for the climate-control, constructional plans, and an socio-economic analysis of the contemporary museum-culture were included in this final B. Arch project.

De verschillende dakvormen vanuit vogelperspectief gezien. Het glazen dak boven het atrium heeft geintegreerde zonnepanelen dat tevens voor klimaatbeheersing zorgt.
5 designs voor degevel panelen,10 mm dik geperforeerd staal,omgevouwen.Deze kunnen op verschillendemanieren gecombineerd worden om een open danwelgesloten gevel te maken.
Er is eventueel nog de mogelijk-heid om mos in sommigepanelen te verwerken.

Kunsthal 2015|RotterdamAluminum panels, cladded onto the half-open facade, would create an ou-ter shell around the concrete building. Daylight is let in through the holes of the various sets of panels to create a different view from inside the museum. At night this would be the other way around to create an interesting artificial light from outside the museum. The glass roof on top of the atrium consists of solar panels, creating a play of shadows. Above the ramp the skylights will differ their shadows onto the concrete walls.

Renovation of Villa|The Hague
The renovation of this villa in The Hague aimed on making a more open and modern home for the clients. Built in the 20s, and owned by the client’s grandparents, the 500 m2 villa had still a traditional floorplan and a lack of contemporary ambiance. The ground floor needed a workable plan for the couple and their three children, one where the space would be divided so that
the family could interact. By opening up the kitchen and adding a alcove with a study, storage and fireplace the problem of the relatively spacious groundlevel would be solved. Measuring the existing building, making a 3d-model, designing the the interior and making presentations for the client were my responsibilites in this project.

Natuurpodium|Bergen op Zoom
The Natuurpodium located in a natural reserve of the south of The Netherlands, is a new project by Personal Architecture. The natural reserve is popular with the Dutch for it’s wildlife and zi-pline activities, and had to upgrade their facilities. A stage in the middle of the building and a roof garden would give the op-
purtunity for the nature reserve to showcase it’s sustainable way of managing the reserve.Aside this exhibitionspace the stakeholders were also given their office in the new building, and a restaurant/café and kitchen café ere designed for the visitors of the park.My responsibility was to finalize the draughts and to assist in the project management of the Natuurpodium.

Music Venue|Rotterdam
This existing building on the corner of a recently becoming po-pular street, is developed as a music venue and café. The relati-vely high space can be divided into two levels by constructing a steel platform, so to create a bigger area for the café.
Being in contact with the clients and the contractor and arran-ging the licences with the local government were my respon-sibilities. The model would be demonstrated at the communal building of the district.

Urban gentrification|Rotterdam
In this managementgame, an urban area in Rotterdam called Pompenburg, had to be redeveloped. This area, has potentials for it’s direct position next to the CBD, but has a disadvantage of the railway dividing the district in two.As the appointed property owner of the district, I made a visionary socio-economic plan for the urban redevelop-
ment, looking into the value of the future properties.To incline the value of the area, attraction of the Rot-terdam citizens, was a must. A music stage would be created where now an old fuelstation was located. Phasing was an important aim in this project. Being able to think in phases and to overview the timespan of the vacancy of the building sites temporary retail stores were attracted in the area.
