PORTHOLE - Pilot club of Titusville
President’s Report
Hello Pilots,
As this Pilot year comes to an end, I would like to thank all of you for the support you have given me. As we all know, this has been a challenging year for me and because of those challenges, it has made me a stronger person and leader. I believe in my heart that the lord knows exactly what he's doing when he give us those challenges.
In the beginning of my Pilot year, I sat at the Fundraising meeting and asked you all to bring that Fashion Show back! And you did! And it was a HUGE success! I had no doubt that you all could do it. With the help of our whole club, we raised $9,588.92. A BIG THANK YOU goes to our Chair, Evelyn Taylor. She was the organizer and designator. I am so thankful that she took on that position.
As of July 1, 2011, I will be a new Past President. I have some great ideas for our 5th Wednesday meetings. I am encouraging each and every one of you to attend these meetings. These meetings are different from our regular meetings. They are fun and informative.
I am looking forward to a new Board for this coming year. I know that Jean and Lily will do what it takes to make our club stronger, build unity and recruit new members. I am thanking the new Board in advance for taking these leadership positions.
I would like to thank you for allowing me to serve as your 2010-2011 President. It has been an honor.
Pilot love and friendship,
Robin

From our Chaplain- ESTHER PORTAMy Dear Pilot Friends,
Spring has arrived with a rainbow of color. Our
neighbors have lovingly prepared their yards for our
enjoyment. Take time to enjoy the beauty God has
created in our small community. Get outside, take a
stroll, feel the breeze on your face and reflect on all
that is wonderful. As we journey into a new Pilot year,
there is so much good we will do as a club and as
friends. We are One, but we have many Hands to
accomplish the goals we set as Pilots.
“Deposit strength in others; deposit hope in others. Be
an encourager and help unlock their dreams.
Remember, what you make happen for others, God
will make happen for you. You'll have the strength, hope
and courage you need to see every dream in your
heart come to pass! “ Joel Osteen

Hello Pilots,
Let me start by thanking the fundraiser committee for the fantastic job in raising the funds for us to be able to meet our goals and needs in our community.
Thanks to Jonda Erwin and Carol Pedersen for heading the Community Dinners this year, see their report next.
This year we gave $6,400.00 in Mini Grants to sixteen recipients.
There is a lot to be proud of our work in this community, in 2010-2011 we served over 220 dinners, provided 50 bags of personal hygiene to homeless and underserved, contributed to the Flag Memorial and flag services with Carole Clarke, as Betsy Ross, are some of the project we did this year.
Thanks to Wanda Andrews’ leadership we continue to provide socials to Joe’s Club clients., and our Anchors, under the leadership of Robin Porta and Mrs. Feaster brighten the day for the clients of Joe’s Club with their visit, gift and enthusiasm.
Truly a team effort that can only be accomplished by caring individuals,
Thank you for your support.
Root Beer Float Social @ Joe’s club, by Wanda Andrews
Hello Pilots
On Friday, May 20th, Wanda Andrews, Carol Pedersen, Billie Jo Strickland , Barbara and Bill Fry hosted another Root Beer Float Party at Joe's Club for 40 of the Joe's Club clients on behalf of the Pilot Club of Titusville.
The party began around 1 p.m. Audrey Moore, from Holy Spirit Catholic Church, played the piano accompanied by her husband Arthur. They have become regular volunteers at Joe's Club festivities since we introduced them to Joe's Club several years ago when our regular piano player, Sally, fell and broke her arm and couldn't play.
We learned Friday that Sally herself is now in a nursing home, although she did play for us one last time this past Fall when Audrey was unavailable on our party date. We served sugar free root beer floats, cookies and cheese puffs to our enthusiastic guests as Audrey played piano. While refreshments were being delivered to the tables, we sang which encouraged the Joe's Club attendees to join in the old time favorites that they still remembered.
Wanda and Carol did their famous polka dance and even Barbara and Bill Fry "cut a rug" to the delight of the guests. Since Audrey was celebrating her 80th birthday on Saturday, the Joe's Club attendees joined the Pilot Club members in an impromptu rendition of Happy Birthday which really delighted Audrey.
As usual, we concluded with a stirring rendition of "God Bless America". Both Staff and Joe’s Club clients thanked us as a group and individually and begged us to come again.
Respectfully Submitted,
(*_*)WandaPC of Titusville E-Member

Spring Dinners -by Jonda Erwin and Carol
Pedersen
Ten families were selected for us by Norma Lumpkin, a local community activist. Pumpernickel’s supplied 10 dinners for a nominal fee for our "Spring Dinners" project to be delivered the day before Easter.
There were 33 children associated with these 10 families and our members donated all the supplies for these baskets. On Friday night, the following people met at Parrish Medical Center to assemble the baskets: Janet Camacho, Jonda Erwin, Rosa Estela-Flint, Ann Legge, Carol Pedersen, Robin Porta, Lily Renzetti, Jean Seiffert, Dylan Seiffert(Jean’s grandson), Lorene Shafer, Rachel Terry, and Debbie Thompson.
On Saturday four teams delivered the dinners and baskets . Team #1 was Robin Porta, Max and Sarah Jones (Robin’s cousins), Team #2 was Janet Camacho and Ann Legge, Team # 3 was Jean Seiffert and Lorene Shafer and Team # 4 was Jonda Erwin, Carol Pedersen and Rachel Terry.
Thank you to everyone who bought, donated, assembled and delivered. It absolutely was a club effort and a lot of fun!!!!!

trait to have. It means to be responsible, having devotion
and never giving up, staying the course in spite of the
challenges. It also means to be honest and true to the task

Report from the Membership Chairman-
LILY RENZETTIAs this year come to an end, I want to concentrate on our accomplishments. The accomplishments of the past year are quite extraordinary. In the mist of the economic situation our region is facing, the fundraiser division managed to exceed our expectations, Thanks for everyone participation, the Project division feed more than 220 people, provided personal hygiene products and blankets to 50 homeless and less fortunate, gave more six thousand dollars in Mini Grants to sixteen organization, donated to Japan Relief fund and contributed to the FL. Scholarship Houses. What I am mentioning here is only half of what we contribute to this community and the world.
But these accomplishments are only feasible and possible by the leadership, commitment and passion of each one of our members . As Francis Wayland, puts it “ It is by what we ourselves have done, and not by what others have done for us, that we shall be remembered in after ages.”
To our chartered members, Thank you for your commitment to the mission and vision of PI, The Pilot Club of Titusville and this community. May your earlier accomplishment continue to inspire all of us as we continue to make a difference in this community and the world. Happy Birthday Pilot Club of Titusville
Lastly, I want to personally thanks Debbie Smith for all her help she gave me this year, from having the Anniversary Certificates ready each month, to getting the cup cakes for your birthday, to cover for me each time I could not attend a meeting. Debbie you truly are a team player and I am grateful for your help.
