HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT STEM EVENT
The High School Student STEM Event is aimed at the next generation of oil and gas professionals and their educators. This one-day workshop offers the opportunity for high school students and teachers to engage and gain valuable insight into the industry.
This student and teacher workshop gives teachers the tools they need to comfortably teach students on energy choices and careers. Hands-on activities provide educators with interactive, age-appropriate experiments using basic household items that illustrate energy concepts within the industry. The experiments are inexpensive and can easily be done in the classroom with their students.
The workshop is structured for school students from grade 10 to grade 12. The programme included expert speakers, student hands-on activities, and Industry Panel Session and exhibition/technology tour. Students used these opportunities to learn about emerging technologies in the petroleum industry, career opportunities and how energy makes an impact on our everyday lives.
