RFID-based IdentiQuik® couplings redefine what's possible for controlling, protecting and streamlining fluid handling processes. IdentiQuik technology allows the robust transfer of fluid and information to identify device type or connected media, verify line connection accuracy or capture fluid and product data. Hybrid connectors eliminate misconnections by integrating electrical, fluid and gas lines into a single connection point.

Presentation Notes
CPC has been designing and manufacturing quick disconnect couplings and fittings since 1978. As seen on the left, our initial product line was a chrome plated brass quick connect. There was a major distinction between this CPC product and any other product on the market at that time, and that was the push button thumb latch with the audible colder “click”. (take a part and show the click) The “click” indicates to the operator that the connection is securely made. This audible click is a feature on nearly all CPC connectors. After the initial machined brass products, CPC moved to injection molding. This move to molding opened up the flood gates in CPC’s product development with thousands of off the shelf couplings in every size, material, and termination imaginable. The innovation continued with the development of double sided dry break shutoff valves that eliminate any fluid dripping upon disconnect of the coupler. Typical shutoff valves have some spitting or fluid inclusion that drip when the connection is separated. The CPC NS2 dry-break couplings valves have less than .01cc of spillage per disconnect. On the right, you will notice a connector with both tubing and wires connecting to it. This is an example of our electronics integration into our fluid handling couplings. This particular part includes RFID identification that essentially allows the connector to transfer data between the male and female halves of the coupling. This data exchange can vary from serial # identification, to reading process parameters associated with a particular assembly. This engineering and innovation is what separate CPC from others in the connector world. CPC engineers fluid handling solutions. This is just a snap shot of the evolution of CPC and shows only a few examples of CPC’s standard products. We have more than 7,000 standard part numbers in every size, material, and termination that you can imagine.
Colder Products Company averages 300 custom design applications per year. As you can see, the complexity of a custom product can vary quite significantly. Starting on the left, there are some very basic and simple changes that can be made to make a connector suitable for your application. Using a special o-ring or spring material or making the part in a special color to match your equipment may seem trivial, but this slight change can really make the difference in a product. From combining several connections into one manifold as shown in the manifold on the left, to supplying a hybrid connector that carries both electrical and air lines in one quick connect, CPC can customize a solution in any way needed to better suit your application and the end users interface.

HYBRID CONNECTORS: ADVANTAGES
Reduce development time with turnkey solution
Save valuable engineering resource – leverage CPC’s engineering expertise
Streamline quality and purchasing resources – source and qualify a single solution rather than dozens of components
Reduce risk – CPC offers a validated, proven solution
HYBRID CONNECTORS: KEYS TO SUCCESS
Look for applications where the end-user makes multiple connections. Focus on: • Safety • Ease of use • Eliminating misconnections or missing connections
Start with standard product examples: HQC and MHQC
Work across Engineering, Purchasing and Product Managers early in process High return projects require high investment so projects are vetted very carefully
