Please pray that we may faithfully pursue our parish vision statement during 2019:
‘THE LOVE GOD STARTED IN US, WE EMBRACE, CELEBRATE, DEEPEN,
LIVE OUT AND SHARE WITH OTHERS’
Also that we may live out the following values:
Please pray that everyone may feel called to be on a spiritual journey as a disciple
of Jesus in a life - long process of growing and maturing – growing in faith,
knowledge, prayer. That we shall all be willing to identify our God-given gifts and
be willing to be involved in at least one ministry, after the example of Jesus who
came not to be served but to serve. That we shall also commit to one programme
of faith formation for the year.
Please pray that our ministry of social outreach may be founded on God's justice
and be rooted in servanthood, that it may be something we do rather than just
speak about. That we shall both care for people’s immediate needs as well as work
towards creating more just structures in society and equip and empower people
to find ways of taking care of their own basic needs..

ruling above all earthly structures of governance:
guide the people of this nation now called to elect their leaders,
that the parties may present their manifestoes with honesty and clarity,

We give thanks to God for the leadership ministry of Mr. Eric Jooste within this small
community and for the Rector, the Revd Fr Craig Abrahams. We thank God for the
faithfulness of every parishioner. We ask for guidance for the future as we shape,
form and claim our identity as Anglicans within our community.

St Michael, Abbotsdale
We offer our prayers of thanks and praise to God for the work, witness and ministry
of the Anglican Church in a rapidly changing Abbotsdale under the patronage of Our
Lady and St Michael and All Angels. We give thanks to God for the various ministries
and organizations within our Chapelry and for the slow but certain signs of healing
and reconciliation. We are grateful for the spiritual enrichment in which our Rector,
the Revd Fr Craig Abrahams has been instrumental, we thank God for his ministry
amongst us and uphold before God his family who unselfishly supports him. We pray
for an end to poverty and the social ills which sometimes accompanies poverty. We
bring before the Lord our ministry to young people and especially for our renewed
Junior Church ministry and for the overwhelming response in those who have availed
themselves as facilitators. We thank God for the persons who are now undergoing
training in how to lead the Daily Offices and who responded so lovingly and positively.
We pray that we will be a beacon of hope to the hopeless, a place where all are
welcome and where everyone knows that they are loved by a tender loving God.
“For the love of God is broader than the measure of our minds and the heart of the
Eternal is most wonderfully kind, but we make His love too narrow by false limits of
our own and magnify his strictness by a zeal He will not own.”
