Contents
Keeping the target of 1 lakh villages in mind, it is imperative that multiple ways are applied to meet the target. These ways would be Village Contact Program – SA Volunteers would be visiting villages, contacting farmers & collecting their Village’s Mitti Kalash District Collection Points – SA would identify, fix & publish a list of all the collection points in a state where villagers from closeby locations could come & handover their Mitti Kalash Direct visit by the villagers to Delhi on 9th/10th Aug Villagers would come on their own & join JKA in Delhi with their Mitti Kalash

For the ease of understanding, JKA is divided into 3 sub-phases Phase-1 (Till 30th June):
Pilot visits to begin. Mainly on-ground Preparation - Identification, formation & training of State & District Andolan Teams + Publicity & Communication Material Arrangements
Phase-2 (1st to 31st July): Village Contact Program, kalash collectionurban connect program + internship visits
Phase-3 (1st to 10th August) : Tractor March - Covering 500 km over a period of 9 days
culminating into a gathering on D Day.

Plan Overview: Phases
JKA Phase-1 would broadly involve following tasks Call to register through missed call, social media campaign, advts for Swaraj internships; Call-back, involvement of registered volunteers Statewise Collation of Volunteers Lists Formation of Campaign Teams: State & District District Plan: Village coverage, urban connect plans, finalisation of Collection Points Publicity & Communication Material: procuring, translation, adaptation,Training of Teams on Campaign Execution & Role clarity
Overview: Phase-1
Teams of 2-4 to visit 3-4 villages per day To carry a kit: pamphlets, poster/banner, audio-video, kalash authentication form, volunteer formEngagement with key stakeholders: village leaders, major landowning families, small farmers, landless labour, womens’ group, opinion makers e.g. teachersEncourage everyone to make missed call Identification of POC for each village Kalash collection ceremony with photo Search for possible volunteers who can help with neighbouring villagesFilling of village report at the end of the day
Overview: Phase-2 Rural

Special attention on large villages or kasbas that serve as market for nearby villages or hold weekly haat. Overview: Phase-2 RuralFocus on Mandi/Bazars
A field team comprising of 2-4 volunteers needs to do the following
1)Identify 3-4 villages to be visited for the day & obtain contact information of Pradhan & few locals in advance (Have data before trip)
2)Ensure that you are carrying all materials in sufficient qty.
3)If visiting by vehicles, park the vehicles before entering the village & visit the village on foot. Try not to attract attention
4)Meet local farmers (rich & poor both), pradhan & other opinion makers
5)Distribute the SA + JKA Leaflets to those who wish to read
6)Request them to hand over a Kalash of mitti from their field (‘kalash’ can be any sacred vessel made of earth or any other local material. Avoid plastic)
7)Get the “Kalash Authentication Card” filled by the villager or group. Click photographs of the “Kalash with Villagers & JKA Team”
8)Get “Participation Form” filled from those who wish to join
SOP for Field Teams
Must Do’s
Be humble & polite in your approach
Meet atleast 2-3 marginalised farmers in each village
Get the “Kalash Authentication Card (KAC)” filled (2 Copies)
Take photographs of the “Kalash with Villagers & JKA Team”
Ensure safety of Kalash while handling & travelling (That’s what the effort is for)
Get “Participation Form” filled from those who wish to join
Brief the new joinees on how to get the KAC filled
Don’t
Get into an argument even if the other person is wrong
Take photographs of women without permission
Take any donation in cash (Only cheque in favour of Swaraj Abhiyan is acceptable)
Enter temple or any other place of worship with shoes / sandals / slippers

These are 2 important aspects which if ignored can derail the activity Please share the team list with central team It is mandatory to get the “Kalash Authentication Card” filled. Ideally photographs to be taken at the time of Kalash handover All KAC forms are to be regularly scanned / photographed & mailed to State & National teams Each District team needs to daily enter the log / report on the number of villages covered in a shared sheet
