Step 1: Define Your Brand.You can't sell a brand you aren't familiar with, so your first step must be defining what makes you the professional you are.

• Every branding manager starts by setting goals. • What do you want to achieve throughout your
time with your company, or throughout your career?
• Where do you see yourself in 10 years, and where would you like to see yourself?
• Are you on the rightpath?.

• Take a serious look at your career and direction, and set attainable objectives.
• Maybe your goal is to receive a promotion to a management position this year

1. What can you do to make yourself morevisible? How about volunteering to participate in a big project at work?
2. What about joining a special events planning committee, or just speaking up at a meeting where some of the powerful executives in your company are in attendance? Think of your goals, and then decide what kind ofvisibility you need to achieve to reach them.

Step 4: Live Up to Your Own Brand.
1. Don't let your own brand leave others feeling disappointed. Reputation is a big part of branding.
2. Go the extra mile on team projects, give it your all on every assignment, and lend a hand when you need to. When others work with you, they will talk. Make sure they have nothing but positive things to say.
