Inauguration of Annual Road Safety Exhibition – 2016 at Traffic Pavilion Pragati Maidan
The Annual Road Safety Exhibition with the theme “KNOW ROAD SAFETY-
AVOID ROAD MISHAPS” was inaugurated at Traffic Pavilion Pragati
Maidan on the occasion of India International Trade Fair – 2016, in a special
function by Sh. Alok Kumar Verma, the Commissioner of Police Delhi.
Senior Delhi Police officers graced the occasion. The welcome address was
given by Sh. Taj Hassan Spl. Commissioner of Police/Traffic. Sh. Alok
Kumar Verma addressed the gathering and emphasized the need and
importance of road safety in day to day living. He stated that the main focus
of Road Security should be on the young generation, the future of this
country whose road safety behavior can be moulded and they can play the
lead role of sentinels within their family and peers. Students from Tinu
Public School, Gyan Mandir Public School and ASN Public School presented
cultural programmes based on road safety.
Activities from 16th to 27th Nov 2016
� New features in the position, more video games, simulators and
interactive learning
� Open painting competition for students in the age group of 6-18 years
on 16th to 18th Nov 2016 from 0830 hrs to 1200 hrs
� Cycling for children in the age group of 4 to 12 years from 1000 hrs to 1800
hrs.
� Daily Quiz competition for students from Class III to XII from 1000 hrs to
1500 hrs. The winners will be declared at 1600 hrs and prizes distributed
every day.
� Know more about traffic rules and test your knowledge about traffic rules
at the Traffic Information Kiosk and win attractive prizes
� Two-wheeler rider training on simulator for adults above 18 years of age to
know about your two wheeler riding skills
� Practical riding on bikes for kids in the age group of 9 – 12 years
� Road safety video games for children
� Display of working of Delhi Traffic Police – its website, mobile applications,
Public Interface through Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, etc
� Inspiring melody of Delhi Police band from 1600 to 1700 hrs.
� Road safety nukkar nataks (morning 1100 hrs by school children and
evening 1500 hrs by professionals)
� Puppet show on road safety
