Prestonpans Infant School Newsletter
October 2018
We are delighted to announce that we have two parents who will
co-chair our Parent Council. Kirsty Anderson is mum of a P3 child
and Andy Castle is a P2 dad. Kirsty and Andy will lead our Parent
Council on Thursday 4th October 2018 at 6.30pm in the staff
room (with crèche). All parents are welcome to join us.
The Consultation on the proposal to become one Prestonpans
school finishes today on Tuesday 2 October 2018. The Parent
Council have made a response to the Consultation. We encourage
you to have your say online on the East Lothian Council website or
by dropping a letter into the consultation box in the office.
There were many issues raised in the Consultation meetings but
the issue of children’s progress in learning and attainment was
often raised. This week, we will make CHILDREN’S PROGRESS
& ATTAINMENT a main item for discussion on Thursday night
at Parent Council. Do come along to hear and discuss more.
Thank you so much for the very generous
gifts you brought for East Lothian Food-
bank this Harvest. Thank you too for all
those who managed along to the Harvest
Assemblies. Your gifts are really appre-
ciated by the Foodbank and those it
serves.
On the first week of every month, we
will put out the uniform from our
Uniform Exchange. This is for all
families to bring uniform that is in good
condition but children have outgrown
and for all families to take what you
need. Please help yourself. It’s all about
families helping families in our Prestonpans community. Thank
you all for bringing and using the uniform exchange.
Our seventh, biggest and best Go Mad with Dad took place on
Saturday 29 September 2018. It seems likely there were 650—
700 dads, male carers and children in the school. Here’s the
queue on West Loan to get into school. Dadswork had created an
incredible range of activities for families to enjoy. Even Batman
came ! A huge thanks to Dadswork for this incredible day.
Well done
Miss Craig and Mrs Traynor
on your leadership awards
at PL in September.
We are very proud of you.
