NEW DELHI, Feb 9:
All trains announced in thelast Rail Budget will belaunched before this year’sbudget as it was our commit-ment, Railway Minister SureshPrabhu today said while flag-ging off eight new trains here.
All eight trains announced inthe last Rail Budget waslaunched by Prabhu throughremote control at the RailwayBoard here.
“It’s a great occasion that weare launching eight trains fromhere using the technology,” hesaid.
Prabhu said railways isnational asset and its function-ing can be improved throughcooperation from all.
“We are committed to makerailways functioning better andimprove passenger amenities andthis will be possible throughcooperation from all,” he said.
He also said railways havereceived suggestions for better-
ment of the national transporterfrom thousands of people on line.
The new trains are Paradeep-Howrah Express (Weekly), Gunu-pur-Visakhapatnam Passenger(Daily), Tiruchendur-Tirunelvelipassenger (Daily), Hatia-Rour-kela Passenger (Daily), Mannar-gudi-Bhagat ki Kothi (Jodhpur)Express (Weekly), Jaynagar-Mumbai Jansadhran Express(Daily), Ferozpur-ChandigarhExpress (Daily) and Byndoor-Kasargod Passenger (Daily).
The trains are part of thebudget announcements made inthe Railway Budget 2014-15(February and July). A totalnumber of 22 new train servicesand one extension of existingtrain service will be implement-ed over a period of next tendays.(PTI)
