The process flow diagram shows the TerraNova®Ultra processwith integral Phosphorousrecovery steps. The dotted parts (bottom left and right) are being added to the standardprocessincasePhosphorousrecoveryisdesired.Theseare:-Anacidificationstep,thatdecreasesthepHleveloftheHTCslurrybelowpH2bymeansofSulfuric Acid. This causes a leaching of the Phosphorous from the Fe- or Al components,generatedintheupstreamwastewatertreatmentprocess,intotheliquidphase.Morethan80%ofthesewagesludgePhosphorousisbeingtransferred.-AsoliddosingstepthataddsCalcium-Silicate-Hydrategranulates(CSH)tothefiltratethatisgenerated during the slurry dewatering step in the chamber filter press. The dissolvedPhosphorousadsorbsattheCSHgranulates.
-AdewateringstepfortheseparationofthePhosphorousproduct.ThisproductconsistsofamorphousP-components,HydroxylapatiteandStruviteandshowsagoodplantactivitythatreachesupto80%comparedtoSuperphosphate.
