Focus/topics:
• Analysis of real data from four pilot construction sites
in France, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain
• Identification of collaborative tools, decision support
systems and new practices for the supply chain,
including the adoption of Construction
Consolidation Centres
Objectives:
• Decrease the negative impacts of urban freight
transport caused by construction works
• Reduce building and renovating costs
• Improve the use of existing transport infrastructures
• Increase the cooperation and coordination among
all the stakeholders of the construction supply chain
• Develop reusable methods and tools
Expected results and impacts:
• The project will deliver a new collaborative
approach and sustainable business models for the
construction supply chain, focusing on distribution
networks, construction sites and reverse logistics.
• Public authorities will benefit from the assessment
of new policies, regulations and improvements in
infrastructure design.
• Transport companies will benefit from the
estimation of the potential savings related to the
implementation of CCCs and to an optimized
supply chain.
• Construction Companies will benefit from more
accurate ROI estimates, thus facilitating their
investment decisions.
• Research organisations will benefit from precise
data on the potential for the optimization of the
supply chain and the performance of CCCs.
