Quick Reference Guide: Freeze Position (Revised: 12/24/2014)

Keep in mind Information Needed

Steps: 1. Navigate to the Supervisory Organization in which the position is located and click on the Staffing tab.

• It is appropriate to freeze a position to stop any incomingstaffing activity from occurring.

• Once a position is frozen, it will be removed from theStaffing tab within the supervisory organization profileand will appear in the Unavailable to Fill tab.

• Positions can be unfrozen if necessary.

• The title of the position• Effective date of the freeze

2. Find the position in the Position Restrictions column and click on the Related Actions Icon next to the appropriate position to display the menu of Available Actions. Hover over Position Restrictions and click on Manage Position Freeze.

3. Use the Prompt Icon to select the Freeze/Unfreeze Reason.

4. Use the Calendar Icon to enter the Freeze/Unfreeze Date.

5. Click the Frozen checkbox if you are freezing the position. If you are unfreezing a position, uncheck the checkbox.

6. Click on the Submit Icon to submit this task.

7. You will receive a message indicating you have successfully submitted the task.

8. The position will now be listed under the Unavailable to Fill tab on the Supervisory Organization. To Unfreeze repeatthese steps, select unfreeze as the Reason and uncheck the Frozen box.

9. Use the Arrow Icon to review the Details and Process information.

10. Click the Done Icon to complete this task.
