RAILMED INTEGRATION TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN THE MED AREA
TENT AND COOPERATION POLICIES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN LECCE, 12.10.12
TENT & CEF Transeuropean Network of Transport
Connecting Europe Facility
• The TENT is the instrument that channels EU funding dedicated to infrastructure; the guidelines currently under review date from 2004;
• The promotion of sustainable maritime transport, as the European Policy on maritime transport should help encourage in concrete terms the support for services that serve the territories, whilst contributing to the reduction of the environmental footprint of transport.
• On 19 October 2011, the Commission published legislative proposals for the implementation of TENT policy after 2013:
- TENT guidelines: principles, methodology, definitions, maps of the core netwpork;
- CEF Regulation: The Commission proposes allocating €32 billion of this new fund to finance TENT infrastructures. The draft regulation specifies the financing arrangements and identifies 10 priority multi-modal corridors that are likely to obtain 80 to 85% of the CEF allocation.
