10.30-11.00am Mental Health and Wellbeing: a practical session for students managing their own mental healthMr Michael Fyfe, 3rd year, Doctor of Medicine, Flinders University
Synopsis: Studying always presents challenges, and research shows studying and working in health related disciplines can increase the risk of these challenges adversely affecting mental health. This session is designed to examine some of the reasons behind this, and practical advice around relationships, habits and resilience to help students’ achievement and wellbeing.

Synopsis: This session is a series of roundtable discussions with rural health professionals. In a “speed dating” style format, small groups of delegates will have an opportunity to learn about the rewards and challenges of working in rural SA.

Synopsis: Tom is 20 years old and is showing some signs of poor mental health. Drug issues? Something more significant? Come join the discussion. This session is a moderated panel discussion on mental ill-health, the signs for recognising it, tips for working with patients and resources available rurally.
Facilitator: Dr Michael Beckoff, GP Proceduralist and Clinical Adviser (Mental Health) for Country Health SA LHN, will be joined by a panel of mental health professionals.
