IT ISN’T ALWAYS EASY FOR VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE TO SEEK ASSISTANCE, BUT SUPPORT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO NEED IT.

Domestic and family violence exists in many forms:
Emotional Threats, intimidation, put downs, name calling,
jealousy and possessiveness.
PhysicalHitting, pushing, choking, assault, using
weapons, property damage, harming family pets and object damage.
SexualDemanding sex, unwanted sexual acts and
treating women as sexual objects.
Social Isolation, smothering, put downs, alienation from family and friends. Controlling what the
woman does, who she talks to, where she goes and public humiliation.
Financial Gambling/drug use, accruing debts, controlling
money, keeping the woman poor even if she does paid work.

We support women, children and young people experiencing domestic
and family violence.
The Domestic and Family Violence Support Service is an outreach service operated by Junction Australia along the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula. This region includes the Victor Harbor, Alexandrina and Yankalilla council areas.
Our support includes:
• Counselling, support groups and community development activities
• Connecting to other relevant services• Assistance for Indigenous and
non-English speaking women• Specialist support to children and
young people.
