As the lights flared up on the stage, the Choralaires burst outfrom behind the curtains in a flash of purple and gray, filling theauditorium with the sounds of Treasure by Bruno Mars. Not only did they excite the crowd with their upbeat songs,their rendition of Let It Go, from the popular Disney animated film,Frozen, left the audience in chills. “This year’s group is more like a community. Last year’s grouphad less drive. This year has better vocals and we all learned thechoreography faster,” senior Od Purevsuren said. “The group worked really well together,” junior Courtney Willssaid. “We were like a family; like a well-oiled machine.” For sophomore Ian Galindo, a member of the school's youngershow choir group, the 27th Street Singers, the year ws a growingexperience.“We were growing, not quite where we were with last year’s groupbut we definitely had the potential to be just as good or evenbetter,” Galindo said. Had the two groups competed instead of hosting the Best of TheWest, they would have been competition for the other groupscompeting in the festival. “This year’s Choralaires group stood out more among others

"This year is much more serious, there were also moreguys and performing was way more fun!" freshman LoganFox of the 27th Street Singers, said "Last year was more like a social hour for the otherpeople. This year the people that are in it, actually careabout the group as a unit and I think thats what helps us,"freshman Jackson Ronne said. Both show choirs ended their competition season inFebruary when the 27th Street Singers traveled to Imperialand the Choralaires traveled to Elkhorn.
