By recycling:
• We help nature
• We help ourselves

Landfills filled with our garbage produce a dangerous greenhouse gas called methane, which contributes to global warming.
By recycling we can reduce global warming.

Producing 40 aluminum cans requires the energy equivalent of a gallon of gasoline. Making aluminum from recycled sources requires 95% less energy than virgin-oil or glass production.
Producing 40,000 tons of plastic bottles requires energy equivalent to 13 million gallons of gasoline. Recycling a ton of plastic bottles saves approximately 74 gallons of gas.

-Plastic bags are confused with jellyfish
-Fish, birds and other marine animals die from plastic entanglement
-Plastic toxins end up in fish, which later end up in our plates

Marine debris accumulates in gyres- areas of slow spiraling water and low winds.
5 major ocean gyres exist worldwide, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch being the biggest compared to the size of the state of Texas.
