Public Notice The Contra Costa County Office of Education has a uniformcomplaint process as required in the Code of Regulations, Title 5,4622, COE Board Policy 1312.3(a). The Associate Superintendent ofHuman Resources is designated as the compliance officer. A copyof the policy is available in the ROP Administration Office. Thepolicy provides for mediation or investigation, presentation ofadditional relevant information, finding, and appeals asappropriate.

Industrial MaintenanceMechanic (IMM)Classes Start: January and July
Sessions: One class session per day(Monday – Thursday).
Either 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Class Length: 80 days
Cost: None
Course: The IMM course will help studentsprepare for an entry levelmaintenance/mechanic job in thepetrochemical and related industries.
Curriculum includes:• Shop and Field Safety• Plant Processes and Equipment• Communication and Teamwork• Hand and Power Tools• Basic Welding and Pipefitting• Industry-related Math and Science
Process Plant Operator (PPO)Classes Start: January and July
Sessions: One class session per day(Monday – Thursday).
Either 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Class Length: 80 days
Cost: None
Course: The PPO course will help studentsprepare for an entry level operator job inthe petrochemical and related industries.
Curriculum includes:• Job Safety• Plant Processes and Equipment• Communication and Teamwork• Piping and Heating Systems• Instrumentation• Industry-related Math and Science
How to ParticipateAll interested students should attend aninformational session to learn about the ROPcourses and related careers. Information willbe presented about the enrollment processand required assessment.

Students must meet the following criteria:• At least 18 years old• Possess a high school diploma or GED• Pass a basic math and readingcomprehension assessment
• Have a valid CA driver’s license
EXPERIENCE. EDUCATION. OPPORTUNITIES. The Chevron/CCCOE ROP courses help prepare students for a job in thepetrochemical and related industries. Students will learn the basic processesand equipment common to the industry. The courses also help develop strongcommunication and teamwork skills, and job safety is emphasized throughout.
