Some important parts
• Epiglottis – covers your trachea when you swallow
• Diaphragm – muscle that controls breathing. Contracts to pull air in.
• Alveoli – Puts O2 into the blood stream and takes CO2 out.
• Draw this pic in your notes:
• The throat, trachea, and bronchi are lines with cilia (tiny hairs) that remove dust, pollution, and other particles that we breathe in.
• Too much pollution or smoke damages the cilia so they can’t clean out the lungs.
