Reuben Colley Sutton Park
Reuben Colley was born in Hodge Hill, Birmingham in 1976. His native city and the wider West
Midlands have provided him with a constant source of inspiration.
Sutton Park is a haven of natural beauty, encompassing woodland, wide open spaces and pools. Reuben Colley has created a range of paintings and drawings capturing the tranquillity of Sutton
Park across the seasons. The paintings, with their loose and impressionistic brushwork, show Colley at his most confident and spontaneous. The drawings are tiny masterpieces, meticulously
detailed.
‘There is a different motivation behind each collection, but a personal connection to each. Whether it is somewhere I have travelled and felt compelled to paint or somewhere as personal as
a place I remember from my past or even a place where I can find a moment of tranquillity’. Reuben Colley
