Daddy, you were my hero, best friend, knight in shining
armor. My first memory of you is when you were working
on cars and taught me to hand you the tools you needed,
that’s where I get my love of working on cars and repairing
things.
You were always there for me, no one will even take your
place. I remember our annual trips to the Ohio State Fair. I
always wanted to go everywhere you went. Loved the way
you taught me sports, the love of cars and the car shows, we
placed the probe in. I counted the cars we had, it’s over 60,
all kinds and trucks too. I am so glad that you were able to
enjoy the good times with Mimi and D.J. Even though your
health was starting to fail, you still made jokes and we
would laugh. We thought it was crazy that you went and got
your ear pierced.
Daddy, you were a true fighter, doctors gave up on you in
March. I insisted that they keep treating you and it would
be up to God. Glad to say we celebrated your 77th birthday
with you and you knew we were all there as I watched you
get weaker and weaker. I had to tell you that it’s alright
and I can only pray to be half the man and father you were.
Fly high My Angel, you truly earned your wings.
~Love You Dad, Deke
