The heart of man is like a globe over the light of the soul.
When this radiance shines out, it shows itself not only through the
countenance and expression of a person, but even in one’s atmosphere.
~ Hazrat Inayat Khan
Dear Beloved’s,
I feel privileged to welcome all to our 67th Ozark Sufi Camp. We are honored to have Zuleikha
as our guest teacher at this camp. We were blessed to have her at several of our early camps
and we are looking forward to being with her again.
Also joining us and bringing new energy to our gathering are special guest teachers Jessica and
Akbar Miller, Ahmed Heeks and Munira Reed. And, along with our local teachers, we will
combine music, movement, and spiritual practices, increasing our awareness of love, harmony,
and beauty.
Our 34 years of coming together as a spiritual community has created a deep sense of extended
family. Our Sufi family continues to grow as new people find their way home.
May we come together this spring camp with the intention of purifying our minds and hearts, so
that the light of our soul radiates out.
With Love & Light! ~ Hamza Roessler ~ Camp Spiritual Director
Friday Afternoon Sufi Sesshin
To set the tone for camp, there will be a pre-camp Sufi Sesshin with Shaikha Hakima Greentree
(Sufi Movement) and Shaikh Zahir Orest (Sufi Ruhaniat) from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27.
Instituted by Pir Shabda Kahn, this practice of meditation alternating with Dances of Universal
Peace and Sufi Zikr brings together two major streams from our Path: Zen Meditation and Sufi
Practices. We will alternate sitting quietly for a short period of time, then rise up in movement
and singing. Some Dharma teaching may be offered. No experience necessary.
Please bring meditation cushion, mat, chair, or bench, whatever is your preference for comfort.
A $30 Love Donation is requested. The funds will go to Murshid Khabir Kitz’s medical expenses.
