Pastor’s Corner
The Lord is risen, Alleluia!!! We woke up this morning with this great news! On this day, our Lord Jesus gives us a command, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen (Mt 28:7). We feel as if this invita on is also directed to us to announce to the men and women of our mes this message of joy and hope because Jesus who was crucified, is raised. Death no longer has the last word. The tomb does not have the last word. Life does! This is our certainty. In light of this event which cons tutes the true and real news of history and the cosmos, we are called to be new men and women in accordance with the Spirit, confirming the value of life. We will be men and women of resurrec on, men and women of life, if in the midst of events that afflict the world today, in the midst of worldliness which distances us from God, we will know how to offer gestures of solidarity and gestures of welcome, strengthening the universal desire for peace and the hope for an environment free degrada on. These are common and human signs, which if supported and kept alive by faith in the risen Lord, acquire a power that is well beyond our abili es. And this is so because Christ is alive and working in history through his Holy Spirit. He redeems our shortcomings and reaches each human heart and gives back hope to whomever is oppressed and suffering. This is the joy of the Resurrec on (Pope Frances). Happy Easter to all!
Paz,
Fr Ignacio

Domingo de Pascua | 1 DE ABRIL DE 2018
Gospel Medita on The first light of Easter dawn had begun to creep over the horizon. The steadfast women from Friday's gory events are returning again to the body of their Lord. "Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?" How quickly we return to mundane concerns and how thoroughly God wants to surprise us! Imagine the u er shock upon seeing the stone rolled away, the tomb empty, and a stranger clothed in light proclaiming the impossible. "You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here." He is risen indeed and the world will never be the same. We know from other Gospel passages that Mary Magdalene made haste to the disciples to proclaim the Good News. We know that Peter and John rushed to the tomb to see for themselves. We know that the wonder and awe of the Resurrec on permeated the lives of the apostles un l their own dying day. Can we comprehend the u erly world‐changing nature of this surprise? The historical reanima on of a dead man is of no real value to us. But we know that Easter Sunday is so much more. By the Resurrec on of Jesus, life has triumphed over death for us all. The gates of heaven are opened and the treasury of graces is poured out upon the here and now. This Resurrec on Day, let us draw near, amazed yet unafraid, to the risen Christ. Let us recall the words of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, "Jesus is not a character from the past. He lives, and he walks before us as one who is alive, he calls us to follow him, the living one, and in this way to discover for ourselves the path of life" (Easter Vigil, April 15, 2006).
¡Aleluya, aleluya!
