Iraq Prior to Saddam• 1974-75 The Iraqi Government
finished the nationalization or the oil industry and used the funds internally.
• 1958 The Baathists created the Agarian Reform Law which sped up the process of getting land to small farmers, they also created large irrigation projects in the late 70’s.

• Elected by Amad Hassan al-Bakr for a vice presidency.
• 1957 Saddam joined Baath party as a low ranking party member who lead schoolmates in rioting.
• 1963 The Baath party overthrew the government and Saddam was allowed to return from exile.

• Allies join Arabic states who oppose Saddam for Desert Storm.
• Breaks a cease fire in 1985. • 1987 Iraq resumes war
against Iranian cities, Moscow pressures Iraq to end war.

• Iraq won a legal dispute over the ownership of some belongings of Saddam, which the proceeds go to the Government
