Parish Outreach Ministry
Food Pantry: Thank you for all the non-perishable do-nations of food that came in this past week. At present, Outreach could make use of supermarket gift cards. Blood Drive: A special thank you to all who were able to donate blood last Sunday. Our blood drive was a success. There were 43 registered donors, 9 deferred donors, 6 automated red cell donors, 28 whole blood donors, winding up with 40 units of blood donated. As a result, 120 people lives will be saved. Thank you as well to all of the volunteers who helped with all the needed work to help make this endeavor a success. These include; Diane Scheel, June Alberico, Janet Knoblach, Ken & Gail Caskin, Eileen Cleary, Ronnie Reichert, and Bailey, a fine young lady preparing for her confirmation. School Supplies: Come September, Outreach will be helping children with needed school supplies. Dona-tions of Items such as; loose leaf paper, binders, eras-ers, pens (red & blue), pencils, composition note-books, and string back packs are welcome. If you would like to donate a gift card to Walmart, that would be much appreciated as well.
May you continue to have a blessed, rest-filled
summer.
Thank You & God Bless!

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
We need your help to reach our goal of $52,300. Thanks to the generosity of 143 families we have
received $29,430 in pledges to this years appeal.
Most of us have been especially blessed by God with health, family and our resources. Many of us
have the ability to participate in a generous way. You recently received a letter, brochure and
other materials about the Catholic Ministry Appeal in the mail. I hope you’ll take a closer look at
these materials to learn about this important campaign. If you have given in the past, I thank you for
your generosity and I hope that you will be able to donate again. If you have not given in recent
years or ever, please be open to the idea of making a gift. In either case, I wanted to outline some
of the areas that you support through your donation to the Appeal.
The Catholic Ministries Appeal is the yearly appeal that helps our Diocese fund many ministries,
services and agencies in the 133 parishes across Long Island. Because of the tremendous generosity
of the people of this parish and others throughout the Diocese, the Appeal helps more than 600,000
people each year.
Every parish participates in the Appeal, as we should, because the Catholic Church is structured in a
way that is universal. We are not just about our community or our immediate neighbors.
There is no other organization or body on Long Island—other than the Catholic Church—that
provides the breath and depth of spiritual and social services to so many individuals and families.
Please consider making a pledge to this most worthy charity. We need the help of every parish
family to reach our goal of $52,300. You have until January 31, 2019 to pay off your pledge. No
down payment is necessary. The Diocese will send monthly reminders. Keep in mind this is not a
legal document. If you feel you cannot keep up your payments, simply discontinue them.
Whatever you are able to give, large or small, will be accepted gratefully. Please keep in mind
your gift is payable over ten months. To make a pledge, simply fill out the form below and place it
in the collection basket or mail it back to the parish office. Thank you for your support and
continued generosity. –John Romaine, CMA Chairman
