Each of the 13 Galapagos Islands has its own unique species of tortoise; many of which are now extinct due to the new introduction of non-native species to the islands.

The Komodo Dragon can be as large as 10 feet long (as long as a couch!), and are known to eat wild pigs, water buffalo, snakes, deer, and fish that wash up on shore.

Then come the Birds...Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle is the national bird and a symbol of freedom. When a bald eagle loses a feather from one wing, it loses one from another to maintain the balance in their flight.

The Ostrich is capable of running up to 43 miles per hour; its kick is powerful enough to take down even a lion! Ostriches are the largest living bird on Earth.

The Burrowing Owl is a bird that makes its nest not in the trees, but in the ground. Their homes are holes dug by squirrels, prairie dogs, armadillos, tortoises, and skunks.

Just because a warthog looks funny doesn't mean it's not smart; warthogs are actually good at learning how to avoid being caught by their predators. Warthogs are famous for their tusks.

Honey Badgers are a smart, strong, fierce animal with a super-strong resistance to snake and scorpion venom. When under attack by another animal, they can use a stink bomb to drive away predators.
