Welcome to the Minneapolis Riverfront District,
where past and present unite along the banks of the mighty Mississippi.
Minneapolis got its start at the river, driven by the power of St. Anthony
Falls. With the booming industrial era now over, the Riverfront District
has retained its heritage and been reborn with a new kind of energy,
capitalizing on the spectacular beauty of the river and creating a rich mix
of experiences for people to enjoy.
From Boom Island to Bridge Square, Historic Main Street in Old St.
Anthony to the Mill District, a visit to the Minneapolis Riverfront District
is an experience to remember:
> Discover history along the self-guided St. Anthony Falls Heritage Trail,
or join one of the many guided tours
> Experience the people, nature, and industries that built Minneapolis at
Mill City Museum and ride the Flour Tower
> Atop a two-wheeled Segway, take a Magical History Tour into the past
> Bike, walk or blade the Riverfront District’s trails, including the Grand
Rounds Scenic Byway and the Great River Road
> Take in world-class arts and culture at the new Guthrie Theater,
