INTERNAL
VICE-PRESIDENT OPERATIONS (HIRED)
Typical Weekly Responsibilities: • Managing all constitutional requirements with the AMS and CUS, which includes:
• Managing the membership sign-up process for the AMS
• Developing and sending an annual budget of year’s operations to the AMS
• Applying for any additional conditions or terms
• Being in charge of meeting minutes, booking rooms for meeting and events
• Preparing agendas for weekly team meetings
• Attending all Internal meetings (with President), working with the President to resolve any team
conflicts
• Organizing the Google Drive and Dropbox folders
• Keeping other Execs on track of their responsibilities and deadlines
• Managing additional administrative activities as they arise throughout the year
• Leading coordination of who will plan biweekly team socials, including a start-of-year and end-
of-year retreat, events of interest in the social enterprise community, and casual events like
pub nights, hikes, and day-trips
• Planning and conducting hiring of team-members, Executives, and Conference directors, which
includes creating a hiring package, representing the club at career fairs, screening candidates,
and conducting interviews
As VP operations, you will also be the club’s treasurer, which involves: • Balancing revenues and expenses
• Handling our accounts held by the AMS
• Processing cash/cheque reimbursements, payments, and floats
• Working closely with the External team regarding finances and funding
Average Time Commitment:
• Up to 8-10 hours a week (tends to be heavier from August-October, with workload alleviating a bit
for rest of the year)
Requirements for the Role:
• Organizational and time management skills are key
• Adaptability and reliability
• Year-long time commitment to the role
• Being a people-person (you will often have to follow-up with teammates and make sure they are
maintaining accountability)
• Most importantly a passion for, or genuine interest in learning more about social enterprise

EVENTS DIRECTOR (1) (HIRED)
Typical Weekly Responsibilities: • Working with the team to plan and orchestrate events throughout the year, and assisting with
their coordination on the day of
• Reaching out to venues, food/drink providers, etc. and ensuring that everything is executed in a
timely and organized manner • Any additional coordination/logistical responsibilities as necessary
• Attending weekly Internal team meetings, in additional to weekly Executive team meetings to keep
up communication and maintain cohesiveness for club’s overall strategy
Average Time Commitment:
4 hours a week; 5-6 hours a week near events
Requirements for the Role:
• Experience in event planning
• Ability to multi-task and oversee a number of operations simultaneously
• Organization skills and punctuality are a must
• Being comfortable with managing others and asking for follow-ups
• Dedication to role and reliability
• “Can-do” attitude
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Most importantly a passion for, or genuine interest in learning more about social enterprise

MARKETING
VICE-PRESIDENT MARKETING (HIRED)
Typical Weekly Responsibilities: • Developing a high-level vision for marketing strategy and campaigns to be carried out throughout
the year for the Social Enterprise Club’s events and Conference
• Scheduling and planning weekly Marketing team meetings, and working with Marketing Directors
to:
» Brainstorm graphics ideas
» Check designs making edits if necessary » Document events and create promotional videos
• Setting up meetings with Events team, and coordinating necessary marketing plans
• Leading boothing efforts
• Overseeing all Marketing channels (social media, newsletter, website, etc.) and ensuring that they
are updated regularly, according to schedule and that accountability of Marketing team-members
is met
• Attending weekly Executive team and Conference team meetings in order to update the bigger
team on Marketing’s activities and understanding overall strategy of upcoming projects
• Managing Marketing team as a whole and being point-of-contact for all Marketing activities for the
rest of the club
Average Time Commitment:
Up to 8-10 hours/week
Requirements for the Role:
• Leadership and ability to manage a team

ASSOCIATE VICE-PRESIDENT MARKETING
• The Associate Vice-President Marketing will shadow the VP Marketing first term, and then
transition into VP Marketing for second term

Typical weekly responsibilities:
• Designing promotional materials for print and web-use, which adhere to the SEC brand, including
but not limited to:
» Infographics
» Logos and promotional posters
» Editing photographs from events » Delegate handbooks and pamphlets for the Conference
• Contributing to the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, including any postering,
boothing, and promotions on social media
Average time commitment:
2-3 hours a week; 4-5 hours a week leading up to the Conference
Requirements for the Role:
• Experience with graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
• An eye for creating aesthetically appealing content
• Teamwork capabilities
• Punctuality and ability to meet short-term deadlines
• Most importantly a passion for, or genuine interest in learning more about social enterprise

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR (1) (HIRED)
Typical Weekly Responsibilities:
• Working in close connection with VP Marketing to carry out overall strategy and activities for Mar-
keting campaigns
• Maintaining all of the Club’s social media, seeking engagement with the club’s audience through
various social media platforms
• Send out newsletters and email marketing updates to online audience
• Updating content on the club website
• Promoting events online and in-person (boothing, posting flyers, etc.)
• Planning team photo-shoots to be presented on website and social media
• Attending weekly Executive team meetings to contribute to discussion and obtain updates from
other portfolios in the club
Average Time Commitment: 4-5 hours a week

Requirements for the Role:
• Ability to design and write appealing picture and email content
• Excellent communication and writing skills, with a genuine passion for connecting with others

• Knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative
• Most importantly a passion for, or genuine interest in learning more about social enterprise

• Experience managing online content (newsletters, emails, social media campaigns)
• Having a sense of humour and overall charisma in writing/when speaking
• Experience with Mailchimp and/or Hootsuite

EXTERNAL
VICE-PRESIDENT EXTERNAL (HIRED)
Typical Weekly Responsibilities:
• Developing a high-level assessment of monetary needs for the Social Enterprise Club’s events
and Conference, and setting goals for funding
• Scheduling and planning weekly External team meetings, and working with Corporate Relations
Directors to:
» Create and maintain a sponsorship package to be presented to potential sponsors
» Identify grants, funds, and sponsors whose values align with the Social Enterprise Club’s » Apply for funding
• Ensuring accountability for agreements and promises made to all sponsors, industry members,
and other organizations • Being the face of the club and representing us to other on-campus and off-campus organizations
• Being the point-of-contact for speakers, guests, and industry professionals before and during
events
• Managing the SEC Gmail account, which includes replying to emails directed to SEC in general
and redirecting emails that are directed to an executive specifically
Average Time Commitment:
4-6 hours a week; 6-10 hours a week near events

CO-CHAIRPERSON (1)
Typical Weekly Activities: • Setting vision for the annual Social Enterprise Conference, held in March and aims to inform, in-
spire and empower students • Working with Co-Chairperson and Social Enterprise Club President towards the club’s mission
• Creating the overarching structure, theme and vision for the conference
• Overseeing planning process, managing the Conference team and working with VPs and Direc-
tors to collaborate, plan and execute vision • Securing and liaising with keynote speakers
• Attending weekly Executive team meetings in order to update the bigger team on the Confer-
ence’s activities
• Giving logistical support to the team where needed
Average Time Commitment
7-10 hours a week; 10-12 hours a week leading up to the conference
Requirements for the Role:
• Knowledge and/or experience within the Social Enterprise field is a must
• Passion for social entrepreneurship/innovation
• Ability to develop a vision with clarity and focus
• Ambition and keenness on success
• Ability to energetically motivate and lead a team
• Experience in event-planning

CONFERENCE DIRECTORS (1-2)
Typical Weekly Activities:
• Working closely with Conference Chairperson and SEC team to plan and orchestrate the Conference
• Liaising with everyone involved in the conference (speakers, workshop leaders, students/start-
ups, UBC socially-minded clubs, student volunteers, venue managers) • Assisting with attaining sponsors for conference (i.e. write-ups, presentations)
• Managing all bookings for conference and ensuring that terms and promises are adhered to
• Managing the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers
• Overseeing all volunteer activities on the day of the conference
Average Time Commitment:
4-5 hours a week; 7-8 hours a week leading up to the Conference
Requirements for the Role:
