Chautauqua B&B Tour a Thundering Success Jim & Joyce Simmelink 22 brave Miata folks set off from Denny's on Friday August 12 and decided that a forecast of rain and lighting was not going to deter them. At least their fearless/foolish leader declared "leave your tops down, if we hit rain on I-90E to NY just drive a little faster!!" Participants at the Oaks B&B were Jim and Marilyn, Bob and Becca, Art and Maureen, Dave and Karen, Jim and Leigh, Margaret and LeeAnn and John and Peg. At the Great Tree B&B Joe and Sandy, Bob and Diane, and Jim and Pam. Oh, and the planners Jim and Joyce. Highlights included: 1 A virtuoso violin performance by Joshua Bell on a Strat. Instrument that was made bout the same time as the Vivaldi's Four Seasons was composed. Appropriately, lots of thunder and lighting in the Summer part. 2 A Chris Botti trumpet and Bell violin duet riff on "My Funny Valintine". 3 The greatest double rainbow as the Great Tree B&B cars caravaned down to meet the Oaks B&B folks for dinner. 4 Finally, A coordinated drive-up and park on the berm of the Chautauqua Institution. A big thank you from Jim & Joyce to all for their enthusiasm and sticking together thru sun and thunder as we caravanned on the back roads of OH and NY
